Building on fifty-three years of existing as a human being and fueled by soaring self-esteem following his most egotistical year ever, Kevin Murphy is evolving into myrfi on air and online beginning now, it was announced by the artist formerly known as Kevin Murphy.
By changing his name to myrfi, which remains phonetically identical, myrfi hopes to broaden perceptions of himself and create a rich new context for his personal brand. "The name Murphy is so commonplace, and Kevin? I mean, come on," said mryfi at a press conference announcing his rebranding. "I mean, we can't own the name Murphy, but we can own myrfi. Huh? Huh?! Think about that for a moment."
The name myrfi firmly establishes a unique and fully exploitable multi-platform identity for the human being, from Twitter to Facebook to Myspace - and beyond! "The possibilities are endless," says myrfi, "In fact, I can feel my branding footprint expanding already."
myrfi's brand message - Think Betterer - is an invitation for consumers and advertisers to "join an entirely new universe layer of thinking, broadening perceptions of imagination into untold horizons of creativity and envisioning new opportunities through intensive cross-media uptake and extensive monotonizing of key market sectors." Asked what this statement specifically means, myrfi replied, "We have no idea, but that's where we're headed."
myrfi's new brand evolution will officially launch in late spring with an aggressive trade marketing campaign. myrfi's family could not be reached for comment.

Oddly enough my middle name is Merkin which, thanks to you Kevin, I will henceforth sign as Myrkyn. You may or may not find this interesting but I once attempted to trademark a line of accoutrements for men fashioned in the manner of my namesake. I hoped to market them as Dyck Van Dykes but someone beat me to it, darn it. I may have to go with my second choice---Gyrkyn Myrkyn.

Looks like some Danish guy has owned the domain myrfi.com since 2004. Perhaps he'd be willing to give it up, since it goes nowhere at the moment?
